# QRX > QRX makes artistic QR codes: a scannable code painted into a picture from a description. The REST API is at https://qrx.codes/v1 and the MCP server at https://qrx.codes/mcp. Authenticate with an API key as `Authorization: Bearer qrx_…` (or `X-API-Key: qrx_…`); these docs are public. Codes are asynchronous: create one with POST /v1/codes?wait=45 (send an Idempotency-Key), then GET /v1/codes/{id}?wait=45 until its status is succeeded or failed. A code's id and short link never change. Every code counts against the key owner's plan (42 a day on the Free plan; Starter has no daily limit). ## Docs - [Overview](https://qrx.codes/developers.md): What the API does, a quick start, authentication, environments, plan limits and rate limits. - [API reference](https://qrx.codes/developers/docs/reference.md): Every endpoint with its parameters, request and response fields, errors and examples. - [Errors](https://qrx.codes/developers/docs/errors.md): Every problem type the API answers with, when it happens and what to do. - [AI agents and MCP](https://qrx.codes/developers/docs/agents.md): The MCP server and how to connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Cline, docs for coding agents, and setup prompts. ## API - [OpenAPI 3.1 description](https://qrx.codes/v1/openapi.json): every endpoint, schema, header and problem type, with examples ## MCP The MCP server at https://qrx.codes/mcp (Streamable HTTP) has these tools; set-up for each client is at https://qrx.codes/developers/mcp. - `generate_qr_code`: Generate a QR code - `get_qr_code`: Get a QR code (reads) - `list_qr_codes`: List QR codes (reads) - `change_qr_code_destination`: Change where a QR code points - `get_account`: Get plan and usage (reads) - `get_profile`: Get the signed-in QRX account (reads) - `list_styles`: List QR code styles (reads) ## Optional - [All the docs in one file](https://qrx.codes/llms-full.txt)
